Squiggling my muse 6

CROSSING THE BRIDGE

Relationship dominates the journey. Many of these relationships are maintained well while others seem to fade away for lack of attention. Some relationships are irreconcilable because of a breach of trust. In the same breath there are those that has been cemented by an invisible bond called love. The New York Bestseller "Shack" has a quotation that states "we are hurt by relationship but we are also healed by relationship".

Learnt some lessons though, which is mostly borrowed from others but mainly relevant for my crossing the bridge of life. Here goes ..

1) Others may (justify their own case) but we may not . (We don't fight for ourselves but God battles on our behalf ) - Albert Jebanayagam
2) Love cannot be forced (manipulated)- Rob Bell
3) If we're right but rude we're wrong - S. David Gnanaseharam
4) Every problem is an opportunity - Gordon Crudem
5) Our identity gives us authority to walk in our destiny - John Andrews
6) Never give up (loooong suffering) - Mary Seraphine
7) A beautiful life is one that is nurtured by loved ones, cultured by leaders, re-fractured by life and matured by the Lord Jesus - Jay

What a journey it has been so far. A trip to Scotland recently for a youth camp ironically called "it's all about the Journey" kind of sums up the United Kingdom experience. At this camp there was a stream with a wooden bridge across it. I tried a couple of times to get across but would end up in the water. Until someone wise who managed to cross the bridge told me to take one step at a time and recognize the cost of falling. The outcome was that I crossed the bridge on my next attempt. It's a beautiful life.
Stay blessed.

Squiggling my muse 5

MTV bound or just another multimedia workshop???

Is it just me or has the dependable values of life such as truth and justice which has withstood every kind of test now find herself crumbling under pressure and limping towards the losing corner.

In her place we find misrepresentation and spin-doctors in fields that prides itself for helping the good, the bad and the suffering. Interestingly one of the most common phrases thrown about in these organisations is ..can you practise what you preach? Gordon Brown and the ministers embroiled in the expenses scandal are holding on by the skin of their teeth. A similar situation can be heard time and time again about leaders from non profit organisations and faith based institutions.

This may all look like a new phenomena however its my belief that there is an epic conflict as old as sin itself between self and selflessness influencing every decision made by humanity.
But as a friend once said we're not in the winning side but in the side that already won!!!

Stay Blessed

Lamentation in the right context is good for you!!!.Lamenting over the lost of a loved one, times apart from each other or even opportunities to be together, can be exhausting nevertheless it is part of living.Blogging a phenomena that allows any ol' stranger to have a glimpse into the bloggers life could either exponentially increase this impact and I guess probably over time have no feelings whatsoever.

This lent, I share my giving up to receive,
I could not see the one I love and my boy as they were away in India.

This dirge seems tuneless but a much needed therapy.

Yet after the songs is sung...
a sense of picking up the pieces and starting over again begins..
why??
Because I will see the one I love soon...looking forward to a better next time.
oi na manna bhai.

Squiggling my muse 3

I woke up this morning to calls from Sam G. and David G.,
bearing the message that America's got a new President.
Barack Obama will soon step into the White House.
Destiny has beckoned in her first black family, running the most powerful country in the world as envisioned by Dr. Martin Luther King in his words, I have a dream...

Sure there will be doubters who will find fault in his every move.

But I would like to jot down on this historic day my two cents worth...

When Life collides with Destiny ,
Scrutiny jumps out of the blue to either bring order or chaos
but we can always depend on Hope to keep us keeping on.

The Bible speaks of the account of a dead man who had run out of hope.Yet Lazarus' destiny was to rise from the dead.

Although Christ Jesus had called out Lazarus by name, he told the people around him to unwrap the graveclothes that bound him up.We live in a generation unaware of their destination.I believe all of us not just Obama have been called to remove the graveclothes of a stinky world.
To bear hope for the hopeless.

Give America Hope, Obama!!!

Squggling my muse 2

When Life throws you a curve ball swing calmly .

It is impossible to achieve anything without going through some kind of testing. Similarly, once we pass the examination in the college of life we become that much stronger, beautiful and uniqiue.
Talking about swinging, check out these two learners making music.

Here's a snippet from an "L" Plate song:

I want no one else to be what you are to me
no one else can ever be,
I'm caught in this dream where you are all I need
please don't turn away from me
you take this pain from hurting me,
your shaping the man I'll someday be..

Squiggling my muse

New things are springing out for the right purpose and with impetus for growth. To often new happenings are motivated by the wrong reasons. In the past, we have been guilty of simply filling up the calendar or driving a novelty idea, but this summer was different. The streetvalue projects is slowly but surely developing naturally.First a place to call home, at the Handley Page Community Centre in South London.Young people are beginning to turn up every Saturday, to hang out and enjoy each others company(in other words not kicking each others face in).

There is also the preparation of the first gig by our very own youth band set up a month ago called "L" Plate at a youth cafe run by us.

More infobytes on "L" Plate and their first gig soon..
